A cooler pipe will smoke sweeter, cooler and smoother. Bent stems are generally more popular and it’s not solely down to Sherlock Holmes. The exaggerated curve gives the smoke longer to cool down and the exaggerated curve naturally forms condensation, which helps remove moisture and impurities from the smoke.

The Falcon Coolway No.105 is a discreet Calabash with a saddle mouthpiece.
Calabashes are most famous for the over exaggerated lip associated with the Sherlock Holmes character but they aren't always so in your face.
A Calabash has a nice deep bore with the outer pipe tapering towards the bottom.
This makes the pipe very comfortable to hold and ample amounts of Briar helps keep it smoking cool and sweet.

The Falcon Coolway No.106 is a little out of the ordinary shape wise, which is rare on a budget end pipe. It took us a while on the shape charts to find anything similar as it is somewhere between a Billiard and a Chimney with a bent stem. The 106 Chimney/Billiard is a nice large pipe with deep bore and good briar walls for a cool smoking pipes. The exaggerated curve in the stem forces the smoke at an unnatural angle, increasing condensation and therefore making the smoke cooler and sweeter.
